Music and talk for Kenya's Asian community.
East FM profile
East FM is a Nairobi station for Kenya's Asian community, run alongside the Radio Africa Group stations. A 2019 Kenyans.co.ke list places it on 106.3 FM. The Communications Authority of Kenya's June 2026 register shows its commercial FM licence, issued on 16 November 2023 for ten years, held by Metro East FM Limited. That company shares a Nairobi postal address with Radio Africa Limited.
In coverage carried by The Star, the station calls itself Kenya's premier Asian mix. Bollywood and other South Asian music, with community-focused talk, set it apart from the capital's mainstream English and Swahili stations.
In August 2019 East FM held its first East FM Star Awards at Diamond Plaza II in Parklands, Nairobi. The Star reported that the night recognised listeners and nominees, featured Indian singer Taz of Stereo Nation and drew then Radio Africa chief executive Patrick Quarcoo. The report named Piyush Shah as East FM's vice chairman.
Quarcoo and William Pike co-founded Radio Africa Group in 2000. Headquartered in Westlands, Nairobi, it runs Kiss 100, Classic 105, Radio Jambo and the Kikuyu station Gukena FM, and publishes The Star. Quarcoo stepped down as chief executive in June 2024 but stayed on the board.
