Ingo FM profile
Ingo FM is the Luhya-language regional station of the state-owned Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. KBC lists it on 100.5 FM in the Western region, and the corporation's Wikipedia entry dates its launch to 2012.
Ingo FM joined Nosim FM, Minto FM, Kitwek FM, Mwago FM, Mayienga FM and Mwatu FM in KBC's 2011 and 2012 vernacular rollout. The expansion let the public broadcaster compete for audiences lost to private vernacular stations in the 2000s.
The station serves Luhya speakers in Western Kenya with news, public information, music and community programming. Private Luhya rivals include Royal Media's Mulembe FM and Sulwe FM.
KBC is a state corporation set up under Cap 221 of the Laws of Kenya, headquartered on Harry Thuku Road, Nairobi. Sister services include Radio Taifa, KBC English Service, the Eastern and Western Services, Coro FM and Pwani FM. Current presenters and shows are unconfirmed.
