Pwani FM is the coastal Swahili-language station of the state-owned Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. KBC lists it on 104.7 FM in Mombasa and 93.7 FM in Malindi, with no Nairobi frequency.

KBC started Pwani FM in 2001 for the Coast region, according to the corporation's Wikipedia entry. It followed the Kikuyu station Coro FM, launched in December 2000, in KBC's early move into regional FM after liberalisation. KBC's coastal broadcasting goes back much further. A regional station, Sauti ya Mvita, was set up in Mombasa in 1954.

Pwani FM broadcasts in the Swahili spoken along the Coast, with news, public information, music and talk. It competes with private coastal stations such as Royal Media's Bahari FM.

Its KBC sister services include Radio Taifa, KBC English Service, the Eastern and Western Services, and regional stations such as Coro FM, Kitwek FM, Minto FM, Mayienga FM, Mwatu FM, Mwago FM, Ingo FM, Nosim FM, Iftiin FM and Ngemi FM. KBC is a state corporation set up under Cap 221 of the Laws of Kenya, headquartered on Harry Thuku Road in Nairobi.
