Ruben FM profile
Ruben FM is a community station run by the Ruben Centre in Mukuru kwa Ruben, one of Nairobi's largest informal settlements. The Communications Authority of Kenya's June 2026 register shows the centre holding its community FM licence, issued on 4 February 2022 for ten years. Our source listing gives 99.9 FM, which we could not confirm.
The centre is a faith-based charitable trust run by the Christian Brothers African Province. Its website says a Mercy sister, Sr Mary Killeen, started it in 1986 as a primary school for children in the slum. The Japanese organisation African Education Fund took over and opened the first clinic, and the Christian Brothers followed in 2000. Today it runs 29 programmes in health, education, economic empowerment and advocacy, and its school enrols more than 3,500 pupils.
The station belongs to the centre's advocacy and networking work, which aims to amplify social and community issues affecting Mukuru. The website carries a live stream link and a photo of presenter Denson Moruri on air.
